Digitisation Project

Established in 1916, the University of Fort Hare has accumulated hard copy records that form part of the heritage of the University. These records are also national and global heritage. It is important to digitise and preserve this unique heritage of the oldest African Higher Education Learning Centre in the Southern Africa region. The records are currently at the main campus in Alice, a small town in the Eastern Cape province, South Africa.

GBV Prevention

There is a need for a continuous concerted effort to create awareness in society about GBV and its impact on families and communities. Education will have positive spinoffs in building our communities, contributing to moral regeneration. This can be achieved through high-impact dialogues within the University of Fort Hare community that will have ripple effects on other communities. In addition to campaigns, the University would like to strengthen student security by training students in self-defense and providing state-of-the-art security technology.
